The garden fell away so steeply that the family never used it. We built three natural-stone retaining walls with drainage behind each one, and wide steps that zig-zag down the slope.
Each terrace is planted differently: herbs by the kitchen, a lawn in the middle and a shady fern garden at the bottom.
